Namibia - The destination for the passionate hunter
With a wide selection of indigenous game and species, Namibia is becoming an increasingly important hunting destination for trophy hunters. Hunters who have come to know the country well and who appreciate special hunting experiences like to call Namibia "AFRICA'S BEST KEPT SECRET" . The local trophy hunting culture is well established, organized and controlled through a SCI recognized Namibian professional hunting association (NAPHA).
Kamanjab Trophy Hunting - Our farm in perspective
Farm Kamanjab is situated in the northwest of Namibia, just south of the well-known Etosha National Park. It is a privately owned farm and is operated as a commercial game and cattle farm. Our farm (28,500 acres) forms part of a Conservancy area of 570,000 acres. Our farm is not game-fenced which enables us to offer some of the best free range plains game hunting in Africa at reasonable rates and competitive trophy fees. Many of Namibia's tourist attractions are situated in our vicinity and we have a wilderness area with the most beautiful ancient rock engravings on our farm.
We offer a hunting season for the months of June, July, August and September. Hunting on our farm is done fair chase on foot only. The hunter and his guide drive out and glass, then walk and stalk. Blinds are occasionally used. Skilled trackers and skinners are available to assist in the preparation of the trophy. Kamanjab Trophy Hunting farm offers Kudu (50" horn), Oryx bull (37" horn), Oryx cow (40" horn), Mountain Zebra, Steenbok (4.25" horn), Giraffe, Warthog, Baboon and Jackal. Clients seeking Mountain Zebras must be in good physical condition because animals live in rough, hilly granite terrain and considerable walking and tracking is involved in a wilderness area.
Other trophy animals occcur in the conservancy area, but are not always available. We require the hunter to be in possession of flat shooting rifle (i.e. 30-06, etc.) with bullet weight of at least 180 grain.
The 180 grain is the absolute minimum, but we advise a rifle using 200-250 grain.
The length of stay we recommend for a successful hunting safari is at least 7 days and 10 days to ensure trophy selection with scores superior to the above mentioned horn lengths.
By arranging your hunting stay according to your individual aspirations we strive to provide a personal and memorable African experience. |
