U.S. Navy SEALs hunting terrorists in caves need a light they can depend on no matter how extreme the conditions, as does a SWAT team member conducting a midnight raid on a drug house. SureFire's commitment to building the world's finest lighting tools has been driven by the needs of our most demanding customers. Failure is not an option and there can be no compromise.
SureFire strives to design and manufacture lights of ever increasing brightness and quality while setting new standards for maximum power with minimal size. Three things characterize every product: flawless white beam, ultra-high light output, and extreme ruggedness. Unlike lesser brands, which produce a yellowish beam with a spot marred by rings and "black holes", every SureFire is guaranteed to produce a flawless beam and spot surrounded by a perfect corona of softer light.
Metallic vapor coated reflectors
Coating the reflectors with a stippled finish is akin to covering them with hundreds of tiny mirrors, each at a slightly different angle - think of an insect's compound eye. Light bounces off the reflector at varied angles and cancels out the shadows that would otherwise be cast by the lamp filament and bulb. Most manufacturers use much less expensive smooth reflectors with the predictable outcome of spotty beams.
Pre-focused Reflectors
To ensure that not a lumen of light is wasted, each lamp and reflector are matched at the factory and pre-focused within .005 of an inch. No need to twist the top to get your light in focus, it's already done no matter what distance you are looking at.
Tungsten filaments with Xenon/Halogen gas
For a lamp to perform at optimum output it must burn at the highest possible temperature. To push the limits of light output, SureFire lamps feature a tungsten filament in a high-pressure Xenon/Halogen gas atmosphere.
Tempered Pyrex lenses with Anti-Reflective Coatings
Pyrex lenses withstand high temperatures and are highly impact and scratch resistant optical coating ensures maximum light transmission.
Rugged construction
SureFire lights are either CNC machined from aerospace grade aluminum or molded from Nitrolon, a proprietary polymer that is non-conductive and extremely corrosion and impact resistant. Available finishes include a Military Specification Type III Hard-Anodized. This finish is so tough that a flashlight coated in it can actually be used to saw through other aluminum flashlights with standard finishes.
Shock-Isolated Lamp Assemblies
In addition to the inherent shock resistance built into every SureFire, all weapon-mounted lights and certain hand-held models are manufactured with shock-isolated lamp assemblies rated to withstand the repeated recoil of a 12-gauge shotgun.
Lock-Out Tail-Cap
This feature allows the light to be locked in the OFF position preventing the possibility that the light will accidentally be turned on during storage or transportation.
Momentary Tail-Cap Switch
A flashlight can be a powerful tool to not only find and identify an opponent in the dark, but to momentarily blind them as well. Law enforcement and military personnel finding themselves in such a scenario need a light that turns on when they need to see, and off when they want to avoid being a target. All SureFire lights have a momentary switch located on the tail-cap. The tail-cap location is easy to find in the dark and the momentary feature means that the switch will not remain in the ON position after the thumb has been removed a valuable feature when someone is trying to find - or even worse - shoot you in the dark.
Using a SureFire is simple. To turn a SureFire on, simply twist the tail cap for constant light. For momentary control press the tail-cap.
Lithium Batteries
In addition to packing a lot of power into a smaller battery, SureFire disposable lithium batteries have a ten-year shelf life. Put a lithium-powered light in a drawer and 10 years later it will still work. Because of their small size, lithium-powered lights are good for any application where size or weight are a concern: camping and hiking, personal defense, work-related carry, etc.
SmartCharger
The SmartCharger is included with SureFire's Advanced Rechargeable flashlight kits. Microprocessor technology allows the SmartCharger to continuously run diagnostic battery checks to ensure that batteries never develop "memory" and are always fully charged. Batteries can be left indefinitely in a SmartCharger without fear of overcharging. |
